Timothy C. Russell practices in the firm's Commercial Litigation Group. As a member of the firm, Mr. Russell brings more than 30 years of experience in complex cases involving business, commercial and securities law; corporate governance and financing; antitrust and trade regulation; real estate and land use controversies; insurance coverage, marketing and regulatory issues; intellectual property; and other complex civil disputes.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Russell has developed and directed successful litigation practices in major metropolitan law firms, with lead responsibility for trial and appellate work in federal and state courts throughout the country. Mr. Russell has also worked with corporate, insurance and other business clients to devise and implement internal litigation management systems, Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures, and innovative solutions for major litigation, regulatory and other legal problems.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Russell was a partner with Drinker Biddle & Reath and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. He also served as law clerk to the Honorable Arlin M. Adams on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and was a Fellow of the Salzburg Seminar on American Studies and an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center.

Mr. Russell is admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Supreme Court and various other federal courts of appeals and district courts. He is a member of the American Law Institute and served on the ALI's consultative groups on complex litigation, the provisions of the Restatement (Third) of Torts, and revision of the Federal Judicial Code.

Mr. Russell also serves as a court-appointed arbitrator for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and as a mediator of civil disputes. A frequent author, Mr. Russell's articles have been published in such magazines as National Law Journal and Environmental Claims Journal.

Mr. Russell holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a member of the law review. He received an A.B. with magna cum laude honors from Dartmouth College, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Coif.
