Stephen P. Pazan is a senior commercial and IP litigator in the firm's New Jersey office. Mr. Pazan has significant experience as a trial attorney in State and Federal Courts all over the country. He has actually conducted jury trials in four different states and in as many different Federal Courts. In addition to conducting general and complex commercial litigation, he has counseled clients with regard to insurance regulation, renewals, and coverage issues and has instructed and published on insurance and IP topics.
Mr. Pazan received his J.D. from George Washington University, and his B.A. from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. He is admitted to the Bars of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, five different United States District Courts, and three different US Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. In his early years as an attorney, Mr. Pazan worked for the United States Information Agency in Santiago, Chile. He speaks Spanish and some Russian. In fact, in 2006, Spector Gadon sponsored Mr. Pazan's attendance on a medical mission to the Mayan people of the Guatemalan Highlands.

Mr. Pazan's work is reflected in several published cases concerning insurance law, franchise law, and the Longshore and Jones Acts, including the patent law. His most recent reported decision is Proveris Scientific Corp. v. InnovaSystems, Inc., 536 F.3d 1256 (Fed. Cir. 2008), a case arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act, and involving patents on pharmaceutical testing apparatus. He has also developed the curriculum for and delivered continuing legal education classes for The National Business Institute, Lorman Educational Services, and the Burlington County Bar Association
